Arg, another few weeks has passed and my NS letter still not here yet. White horse? Commando? Mono-intake? Dec intake with JC people? Sian ... keep thinking about it all day long. I have no qualms about serving and protecting the country, as long as they make it snappy and not delay my plans for further education. Can you imagine someone graduating with a degree at the age of 26+ :(
This week i have something to share with the readers. I came across an interesting article - Bill Gates advice for students/teenagers. I am sorry i got only the first part of the article (saw them on 我报 actually)
1. Life is not fair - get used to it
2. The world wont care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
3. You will NOT make $40 000 a year right out of high school. You wont be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
4. If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
5. Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping - they called it opportunity.
6. If you mess up, its not your parent's fault, so dont whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
7. Before you were born, your parents werent as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your room.
Hope everyone learns something here!
