last night i had my first ever acupuncture.. i was so scared!! it was horrifying!! 我是抱着必死的决心去完成的! (meaning i was having this mentality that "i would die", to complete this mission.)
i know it's crazy of me to think so. hello? i havent had any needles poking into my flesh before alright? minus injections and blood tests. lol.
Perhaps i too
sio ba literally meaning that dote on flesh.. eg: being bitten by a tiny ant and think it hurts a great deal.. lol..
I found it really painful la.. lol.. I had 5 needles on my head! 2 on my legs!! Perhaps I watched too much martial arts/kungfu shows that i get this impression that if the needle was administered at the wrong acupoint on the head, the person will die!
i've seen shows that the person administer needles on his head so that his internal energy becomes more powerful.. some will die after that.. by the usual vomiting blood scene.. LOL..
i was so scared that i would die or something.. the first person that flash across my mind was jaejoong!!
dont they always say when you are going to die, the first person that you think about is the person you love the most? lol!
anyways, after a few seconds, i realised this.. "hey! how is jae going to save me lo. he is no deity leh!"
i suddenly become pious and started to chant stuff like "Goddess of Mercy please bless me" in my head. LOL.
Laugh at me for all you want!! Call me a chicken!! haha..
There's this chinese phrase that goes:
平时不烧香,临时抱佛脚。。
Means, normally you dont burn incense, last min hug the buddha's leg.. hoping that buddha will save you.. (anyway the phrase is usually used when exams are near ya? normally we dont study.. last min when exam comes we panick like mad. lol.)
which is really true in my case.. because!! i normally also cant be bothered to pray or burn incense.. everytime when i am in trouble.. then i start to panick and ask for blessing.. ha!!
since young, my family has been believing in Taoism / Buddhism..
sorry but i actually cant tell the difference la. they seem the same to me la.
just like how i cant tell the difference from Teochew and Hokkien. So everytime i talk to my grandma, i would suddenly switch from Teochew to Hokkien without me knowing.. I mean.. they sound the same to me.. i treat them like chinese la. Amazingly.. she could understand what i wanted to say.. she's a Teochew fyi.
anyway. in my hse, it's free and easy la. my parents dont force us to believe in what they believe in. we can have our own choice. so.. i'm more of the slacker. just follow blindly when there's a need to go to temples to pray blah blah..
However.. when i need help.. i would just start to ask for blessings etc.. reflex action la. haha.
i'm actually a chicken at heart. lol.
ANYWAY. BACK TO THE ACUPUNCTURE SUBJECT.
i dont know if i wanna go back next week for another treatment. IT HURTS LA.
why administer needles on my head you might wonder. i told the doc i have severe hair loss. that's why.
anyway. perhaps i should go?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for the sake of my thinning crowning glory..........................................
yikes.
anyway.
as of now, 2.30pm.
my head still hurts.
