I was reading through this morning's papers, and saw an article in saving the environment. Google has made the attempt to do its part by introducing a new black version of Google called "
Blackle". They have done research and discovered that black (dark) pages uses lesser power than bright (light) pages on CRT monitors. Below is an execept from Google:
Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. "Image displayed is primarily a function of the user's color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen."

There is also an upcoming documentary about our dying Earth named "The 11th Hour". Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, it seeks to reach out to let people know that too many people are using too many resources at the same time, and these has caused irreparable damage to our homeland. This documentary should be airing in the movies ... i think.
