Just following what my friend did.. haha!
You would remember:
You grew up watching He-man, MASK, Transformers, Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse, Ninja turtles, Carebears, Robocop, My Little Pony and Smurfs. [what about power rangers, looney tunes, jetsons, flintstones, captain planet, swat kats, wacky racers, popeye, scooby doo, sailormoon, gundam, dragonball, ranma 1/2.. and lots more!!]
You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in Primary school during recess time. You would squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug. [dont remember this part]
You hated or loved the school nurse (she was either pretty or mean). [injections!! omgggg.. the dentist was pretty scary too]
You know what SBC stands for. [Singapore Broadcasting Centre]
You paid 40 cents for cartons of Chocolate or Strawberry milk every week in class. [did i?]
Everyone's wallet used to be the velcro type [full of cartoons on them too]
It was cool to have pagers in primary school [yes! but now it's extinct]
SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats are made of wood and the cushion were red. The big red bell gave a loud BEEP! when pressed. [that was donkey years ago man]
There were still bus tickets and bus conductors would come up to check them. [when they check they will tear the tickets! and i used to fold hearts with the bus tickets!]
Envelopes were given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day. [sharity elephant!! i think still have this little memo paper with sharity on it! i think one of his fren was a monkey?]
You've probably read Young Generation magazine.You know who's Vinny the little vampire and Acai the constable. [i think i vaguely remember but the magazine didnt live long if memory serves me correctly]
You know what PETS are and the hidden animals in all the text pages. You hated penmanship. [on the contrary, i think i loved it!~ and finding the animals was totally fun]
Writing lines and caning hands were common, esp if you failed chinese spelling (caning was actually allowed. no shit). [ya!!! damn i miss those days. =X]
You were there when they first introduced the MRT here. You went for the first ride with your parents and you would kneel on the seat to see the scenery. [i dun remember it]
Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50. [they did?! so cheap!? anyway i rarely went to the movies, even now..]
Gals were fascinated by Strawberry Short Cake and Barbie Dolls. [i'm so sorry, i'm not. i was more fascinated by ninja turtles or transformers or those early gundam or power rangers. gosh.. i even had this red ranger thing, it looks like the belt buckle on their power rangers suit if that's a belt.. lol.. when you pressed the middle button, there were 3 buttons.. it would say "it's morphine time!" one side would be the call of the red ranger's robot and the other side... i forgot.. haha.. and the sticker on the buckle would change from red ranger or the robot depending on the angle you held that buckle. mine was red ranger and my brother's was blue ranger. i think we bought it at yohan or or daimaru or something. i remember digging it in those metal baskets in this shopping mall.. with many many many toysssssss..]
You learn to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street. [i think i did.. lol]
You bought tidbits called beebee (20 cents per pack, 10 cents in MGS), and mamee (30 cents), that had a different sticker in it every time. [there was this other noodle.. it was in blue packaging and there was this robot flying on it.. i suddenly cant remember the name.. arghhh... OH YA!! Macho mee or something! and it's far nicer than mamee! =x anyone remember this little packet of juice called Junior Juice? i remember it's bought from IMM.. there was a bear on the juice box.. it was so yummy too!]
You carried a lunch box to school but either threw away the food or brought it back home again. [i think i had bread.]
You watched TV2 (also known as Channel 10) cartoons because Channel 5 never had enough cartoons for you. [channel 8 used to have plenty of cartoons too you know.. japanese anime dubbed in chinese]
Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five and Secret Seven were probably the thickest story books you thought you would ever read. [i read sweet valley high]
KFC used to be a high class restaurant that served food in plates and had metal forks and knives. (I dont remember this, anyone?) [neither do i but i think i remember seeing commercials of it. come back! fragments of memory!!]
The most vulgar thing you said was asshole and idiot and THE MOST EXTREME WAS 'chicken pie'...you just couldn't bring yourself to say the hokkien translation. [how about super white? 1/4 fish 3/4 duck =x]
Catching and pepsi-cola was the IN thing, and twist was the magic word. [not pepsi cola 1 2 3? then you attempt to step on ppl's toes to win?]
Your English workbooks were made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow. [were they?]
You came to school 15 mins before the bell every morning just so you could copy someone's homework. [i did this even in sec sch.. =x]
CDIS was your best friend. [i guess so.. haha!]
The only computer lessons in school involved funny pixellized characters in 16 colours walking about trying to teach you math. [they were actually pretty tough alright?! my maths sucked!]
Waterbottles were slung around your neck and a must everywhere you went. [haha i actually disliked them]
Boys loved to play soccer with small stones or tennis balls in the basketball court. [yep yep]
Girls played five stones and boys played with marbles. [i didnt play five stones. i caught bugs and stuff.. oh god.. am i even a girl.. -_-]
Science was fun with the Balsam and the Angsana being the most important plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most important fishes. [yessssss!!!]
Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei and John, immortalized in our minds from school textbooks. [i'm so sorry i think i forgot? lol~]
We conducted experiments of our own to get badges for being a Young Zoologist/Botanist etc. [i still have them!!]
Every Children's day and National day you either got pins or pens with 'Happy Children's Day 1993' or useless plastic files with 'Happy National Day 1994'. [hey they arent useless and i think i had a photo frame once.. it was damn cool you can put two photos on both sides.. i think it must have been recycled by now.. sad~]
You wore BM2000, BATA, or Pallas shoes. [hell yea!]
Your form teacher taught you Maths, Science and English. [very true!!]
You went to school in slippers and a raincoat when it rained, and you find a dry spot in the school to sit down, dry your feet, and wear your dry and warm socks and shoes. [yes that's so true]
There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost everyday (you hated them). [i couldnt agree more]
Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you $2 or more for pocket mone everyday. [i think i only had a dollar???]
You saw Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall. [dont remember]
Boys liked catching fighting spiders, earthworms or tadpoles. [hey i like that too.. and i am not a boy!!! =(]
Collecting and battling erasers was a pastime for boys. [i did too!! they had flags on them too!! and if you place them on those plastic rulers for some time, they actually get stuck on the ruler and if you force it out, the colour gets stuck on the ruler!]
Class monitors and prefects loved to say, "You talk somemore, I write your name ah!" [hahahaha! why cant they say that! they even have a book to write names!]
You got booked for muddy shoes in class. [did i? but i remember using chalk to colour my dirty shoes.. =x]
There were at least 40 people in one class. [should be...........]
You brought every single book to school, even though there was a timetable. [i hide them under the table!]
There was a pro-yo/bumblebee, digimon craze at some point in time. [yes! and my digi-vice was the first generation!! where you cant shake it at all.. haha! mine was rather lousy.. i cant do those cheat codes to it.. i always get lousy digimon! and after too much furious attack at the buttons.. they actually fell off.. =\]
