First thing - Blogger changed a new look! Took a while to figure out how to start blogging. Havent been blogging in a while.. hehe.
Back to life, this should be 1 of the worst holidays that I have ever spent for the last few years. Ironically this is the last long holiday that I will enjoy before graduating this December. Initially I wanted to participate in an internship, but wasnt shortlisted for any :( So I tried looking for a temporary job but it wasnt any better. I was expected to travel to Tuas/Jurong or had to commit beyond my holidays. After so many interviews and half my holidays gone I am still stuck at home wasting my time away. The only consolation I have is the time I have to do whatever I want and enjoy life. But that is hardly justifiable when I have no income to spend! Sigh... life is a contradiction.
Those that found a job (whether temporary or permanent), you are a lucky person.
I am already so distraught over finding a temporary job this holiday. Imagine finding a permanent job when I graduate.

During 1 of the interviews I met this receptionist. A middle age lady probably in her 40s. I greeted her and mentioned that we (together with my friend and brother) have an interview with the HR manager for a temporary position. She gave me a cursory glance and handed me a form to fill in. I was wearing smart casual (jeans and polo t-shirt). She then ushered us into a room where another interviewee was sitting.
As she was pretty free, she started making small talks with us:
Recep: So you guys are on holidays now?
Me: Yeah
Recep: You guys from Poly?
Now she gave that smirk look that told me that she doesnt have a good impression of Poly students.
If you get what I mean. My brother was pretty disgusted at her tone and he replied.
Bro: No. We are university students.
Her attitude changed instantly.
Recep: Oh I am sorry, sorry ah. I though you all from Poly. Hahaha..
Recep: Please remember to return my pen afterwards ok?
Why are there people like that in Singapore? What is wrong with Poly students? This left a bad taste in my mouth. How ugly can a person be when he/she starts discriminating/prejudicing?
